What&#8217;s next?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; line-height: 107%; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">FUNDAMENTAL<br \/>\n        OVERVIEW<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; line-height: 107%; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style='margin-right: 0; margin-left: 0; font-family: \"Times New Roman\", serif; font-size: 16px'>USD:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; line-height: normal; font-size: 15px\">The US dollar has been mostly rangebound in the<br \/>\n        past couple of days as hedging activity into the FOMC decision and renewed<br \/>\n        escalation on the US-Iran front kept the price action in check. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; line-height: normal; font-size: 15px\">Iran launched a \u201csurprise attack\u201d against US forces in<br \/>\n        the region tonight. All the missiles and drones were intercepted, but the<br \/>\n        escalation increased the risk of a prolonged conflict and therefore higher<br \/>\n        energy prices.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; line-height: normal; font-size: 15px\">Today, all eyes will be on the FOMC decision. The Fed<br \/>\n        is expected to keep interest rates unchanged at 3.50%\u20133.75%. The consensus<br \/>\n        expects up to two dissenters to vote in favour of a rate hike at this meeting,<br \/>\n        likely Fed&#8217;s Logan and\/or Fed&#8217;s Hammack. We won&#8217;t get the Summary of Economic<br \/>\n        Projections (SEP) at this meeting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; line-height: normal; font-size: 15px\">Forward guidance is likely to remain limited, with Fed<br \/>\n        Chair Warsh expected to refrain from providing any major policy signals while<br \/>\n        stressing data dependence and the Fed&#8217;s commitment to price stability.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; line-height: normal; font-size: 15px\">The hawkish surprises include more than two dissenters<br \/>\n        voting for a rate hike or an outright rate hike. The \u201cdovish\u201d surprise, on the<br \/>\n        other hand, would be a perfect consensus with no dissenters.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; line-height: normal; font-size: 15px\">If the Fed delivers a hawkish surprise, we can expect the<br \/>\n        US dollar to rally into new monthly highs on the hawkish repricing. Conversely,<br \/>\n        a \u201cdovish\u201d surprise would likely see hedges getting unwound and weighing on the<br \/>\n        greenback in the short-term. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; line-height: normal\">For a more comprehensive Fed preview:\u00a0<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/investinglive.com\/central-banks\/fed-preview-it-s-all-about-the-dissenters\/\" rel=\"follow\">Fed preview: It&#8217;s all about the dissenters<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; line-height: normal; font-size: 15px\">EUR:<\/p>\n<p style='margin-right: 0; margin-left: 0; font-family: \"Times New Roman\", serif; font-size: 16px'>On the EUR side, the ECB left<br \/>\n        interest rates unchanged at the last meeting but communicated via the usual<br \/>\n        post-meeting media \u201cleaks\u201d that it\u2019s ready to hike at the September meeting if<br \/>\n        the inflation outlook were to deteriorate. <\/p>\n<p style='margin-right: 0; margin-left: 0; font-family: \"Times New Roman\", serif; font-size: 16px'>The majority of policymakers<br \/>\n        that spoke after the decision stressed data-dependence and refrained from<br \/>\n        pre-committing to a policy move in September. They have also highlighted the<br \/>\n        lack of clear evidence of second-round effects and stable inflation expectations.\n    <\/p>\n<p style='margin-right: 0; margin-left: 0; font-family: \"Times New Roman\", serif; font-size: 16px'>On Friday, we get the Flash<br \/>\n        Eurozone CPI report which will influence interest rate expectations. At the<br \/>\n        moment, the market is pricing in a 65% chance of a rate hike at the September<br \/>\n        meeting with a total of 37 bps of tightening expected by year-end.<\/p>\n<p style='margin-right: 0; margin-left: 0; font-family: \"Times New Roman\", serif; font-size: 16px'>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; line-height: 107%; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">EURUSD TECHNICAL<br \/>\n        ANALYSIS \u2013 DAILY TIMEFRAME<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p style='margin-right: 0; margin-left: 0; font-family: \"Times New Roman\", serif; font-size: 16px'>On the daily chart, we can<br \/>\n        see that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tradingview.com\/symbols\/EURUSD\/\" style=\"color: rgba(70, 120, 134, 1); text-decoration: underline\" rel=\"follow\">EURUSD<\/a>is trading below the key 1.14<br \/>\n            zone where we have also the major downward trendline for confluence. This is a<br \/>\n            strong technical resistance where we can expect the sellers to keep stepping in<br \/>\n            with a defined risk above the trendline to target the 1.10 handle. The buyers,<br \/>\n            on the other hand, will need a break above the trendline to open the door for a<br \/>\n            rally into the 1.16 handle next.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; line-height: 107%; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">EURUSD TECHNICAL<br \/>\n        ANALYSIS \u2013 4 HOUR TIMEFRAME<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p style='margin-right: 0; margin-left: 0; font-family: \"Times New Roman\", serif; font-size: 16px'>On the 4 hour chart, we can<br \/>\n        see more clearly the consolidation around the resistance ahead of the FOMC decision.<br \/>\n        Again, the sellers will continue to step in around these levels with a defined<br \/>\n        risk above the trendline, while the buyers will wait for a break above the trendline<br \/>\n        to pile in for a rally into new highs. <\/p>\n<p style='margin-right: 0; margin-left: 0; font-family: \"Times New Roman\", serif; font-size: 16px'>EURUSD TECHNICAL ANALYSIS \u2013<br \/>\n        1 HOUR TIMEFRAME<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p style='margin-right: 0; margin-left: 0; font-family: \"Times New Roman\", serif; font-size: 16px'>On the 1 hour chart, there\u2019s<br \/>\n        not much we can add here as the near-term direction will be decided by the FOMC<br \/>\n        decision. A hawkish surprise would trigger a selloff into new monthly lows, while<br \/>\n        a dovish surprise would lead to an upside breakout and take us to the 1.1482<br \/>\n        level. The red lines define the <a href=\"https:\/\/investinglive.com\/Education\/trading-tip-know-the-average-daily-range-adr-20220207\/\" style=\"color: rgba(70, 120, 134, 1); text-decoration: underline\" rel=\"follow\">average daily range<\/a> for today but in case we get<br \/>\n        surprises from the FOMC decision, they won\u2019t be respected. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; line-height: 107%; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\">UPCOMING CATALYSTS<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin: 0 0 11px; line-height: 107%; font-family: Aptos, sans-serif; font-size: 15px\"><a href=\"https:\/\/investinglive.com\/EconomicCalendar\" style=\"color: rgba(70, 120, 134, 1); text-decoration: underline\" rel=\"follow\">Today<\/a>, we have the FOMC<br \/>\n        rate decision. Tomorrow, we get the Eurozone Flash Q2 GDP, the US PCE price<br \/>\n        index, the US Advance Q2 GDP and the US Jobless Claims figures. On Friday, we<br \/>\n        conclude the week with the Eurozone Flash CPI and the US Q2 Employment Cost<br \/>\n        Index.
