There is arguably just one to take note of on the board for the day, as highlighted in bold below.<\/p>\n

That being for EUR\/USD at the 1.1500 level. The expiries don’t tie to any technical significance, so they may not factor too much into play in the session ahead. The dollar is trending on the softer side, owing much to USD\/JPY intervention after Tokyo officials decided to seek help from Washington at the end of last week.<\/p>\n

That remains the big story in the major currencies space, with USD\/JPY price movements now being what is largely driving dollar sentiment in the near-term.<\/p>\n

The overall risk backdrop and yields play will have to take a bit of a backseat with all eyes staying on USD\/JPY for any further intervention plot by Japan.<\/p>\n

With the dollar leaning to the downside for now, EUR\/USD is taking aim at the 100-day moving average of 1.1567. So, that will be a bigger interest point than the expiries at 1.1500 in the day(s) ahead.<\/p>\n

Even with there being larger expiries near 1.1500 today, the impact is likely to be more muted considering the developments above.<\/p>\n
