The weakness extended across chipmakers, networking companies, optical suppliers and data-center-related names.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the notable losers included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\nSanDisk: -6.45%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nMicron: -5.83%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nSK Hynix: -4.90%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nCoherent: -4.85%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nLumentum: -4.22%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nNebius: -3.75%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nAMD: -3.49%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nCredo Technology: -3.45%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nMarvell Technology: -3.30%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nIntel: -3.14%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nNvidia: -2.91%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nBroadcom: -2.63%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nAstera Labs: -2.61%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nVanEck Semiconductor ETF: -2.43%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nMonolithic Power Systems: -2.37%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nAppLovin: -2.35%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nTaiwan Semiconductor: -2.11%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nTexas Instruments: -2.05%\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Memory and storage companies led the declines, but the weakness was much broader than that. AI chipmakers, data-center connectivity companies and optical-networking suppliers were all hit, suggesting investors were taking profits across the broader AI infrastructure trade.<\/p>\n<p>Away from technology, the winners showed strength in consumer, retail, payments, transportation and defensive stocks.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the leading gainers included:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\nCelsius Holdings: +4.93%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nDollar Tree: +4.01%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nMastercard: +3.30%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nVisa: +3.07%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nChipotle: +3.05%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nAlaska Air: +2.90%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nStrategy: +2.83%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nFedEx: +2.76%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nWalmart: +2.69%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nTarget: +2.68%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nWalt Disney: +2.63%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nCostco: +2.50%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nDoorDash: +2.49%\n<\/li>\n<li>\nGeneral Mills: +2.39%\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Retailers were among the strongest performers, with Dollar Tree, Walmart, Target and Costco all posting solid gains. Consumer-oriented companies also performed well, including Celsius, Chipotle, DoorDash and Disney.<\/p>\n<p>Visa and Mastercard provided leadership in financial services, while FedEx and Alaska Air showed strength in transportation. General Mills added a defensive element to the winners, while Strategy benefited from continued strength in cryptocurrency-related assets.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, Monday\u2019s price action had the characteristics of a rotation rather than broad market selling. Investors moved away from semiconductor and AI-infrastructure names and into retailers, consumer companies, payment processors, transportation stocks and selected defensive shares. That rotation helped lift the Dow even as the technology-heavy Nasdaq 100 fell nearly 1%.<\/p>\n<p>Of note is Nvidia will report earnings on Wednesday after the close. The stock has been down for 7 consecutive days with the price moving from a high at at $227.76 to a low today at $207.25.
