Sellers leaned against the moving average, using it as resistance and as a level to define and limit risk.<\/p>\n<p>The subsequent move lower took the price toward the next key technical level: the 200-hour moving average. This time, buyers stepped in and leaned against the moving average, pushing the price higher. When the level was retested in trading today, buyers defended it again, defining and limiting risk on the support side.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, a battle has developed between the 100-hour moving average above and the 200-hour moving average below.<\/p>\n<p>With both levels doing their jobs, a break of either moving average should attract increased momentum in the direction of the break. How far that momentum extends is unknown, but that is where the next technical targets come into play. Those levels will help define the next steps\u2014and the next risk\u2014after the range is broken.<\/p>\n<p>For now, the NZDUSD remains confined between the two moving averages. Traders should pay close attention and be prepared for a break with momentum.<\/p>\n<p>The price action is telling you where the battle lines are.
