With the figure level already attracting much interest in terms of price significance this week, the expiries here will just add to that in potentially attracting more two-way interest and keeping price action a little stickier around the level if USD/JPY drifts lower during the session.

The big catalyst for the dollar and major currencies today is of course the Fed decision. But until then, we could see a more pensive and muted mood among traders in the run up to the central bank decision.

As such, the expiries might factor into play in keeping any downside pullbacks more limited today. The other key part to watch would be the bond market, but again that is likely to also only see more significant moves once we get to the Fed decision.

Besides that, there is also a large set of expiries for AUD/USD at the 0.7130 level. The expiries here don’t tie to any technical significance but could still act as a bit more of a magnet in keeping price action more congested or choppy around 0.7130 heading into the cut.

That especially since there aren’t any other major catalysts outside of the Fed for the session ahead.

The only outlier that could change up trading sentiment for risk trades and the dollar today would be geopolitical headlines, but that has not really surprised as of late.

Other than the above, there is a large one for EUR/USD at the 1.1595 level but it is maybe only one to keep on the radar, as it is not as immediately relevant compared to the others.

For more information on how to use this data, you may refer to this post here and/or refer to the Q&A below.

This article was written by Justin Low at investinglive.com.

There are a couple of expiry levels to take note of on the day, as highlighted in bold below.
