Oil prices may have opened with a gap higher today but quickly fell back with Brent crude now dropping over 2% to $101.30 on the day.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"text-align-justify\">As oil prices come off the boil, we&#8217;re seeing bond yields also pull back in Europe and the US. 10-year German bond yields are seen down by over 6 bps to 3.45% while 10-year Treasury yields are also down nearly 5 bps to 4.95%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"text-align-justify\">The fall in yields is helping to give risk appetite a bit of a lift, as equities are pushing higher to start the new week. Major indices in Europe are off to a positive start, posting just over 1% gains in the morning session. That is helped by a better mood in US futures, underpinned by a better showing in tech shares. S&amp;P 500 futures are up 0.7% and Nasdaq futures up 1.0%.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"text-align-justify\">Looking to major currencies, the dollar is trading more mixed but generally little changed overall. With Japanese markets closed, there are plenty of watchful eyes on USD\/JPY with the pair trading higher just above the 157.00 level today.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"text-align-justify\">In other markets, gold is trading lower by 0.3% to $4,362 while Bitcoin is also making some waves in briefly touching $85,000 as it eyes a technical break to the upside.
