\n strategy backed by an initial institutional allocation uses GLDY as the long
\n leg of a delta-neutral gold trade, creating a new channel for demand for
\n Streamex\u2019s yield-bearing tokenized gold, with follow-on investments
\n anticipated.<\/p>\n

Streamex Corp., a
\n Nasdaq-listed a technology company building the future of the commodity markets
\n through tokenization, has secured a commitment of institutional capital, a test
\n of whether tokenized commodities can draw buyers beyond individual investors.<\/p>\n

A leading
\n institutional investor has made an initial $1 million allocation, with
\n follow-on investments anticipated, to a relative-value strategy that uses GLDY,
\n Streamex\u2019s gold-backed token, as its long gold position, according to a person
\n with knowledge of the matter who isn\u2019t authorized to speak on behalf of the
\n company. The strategy is run by
\n Metalayer Capital, a systematic investment manager, through its Aureon
\n Relative Value Fund, the person said.
\n Metalayer Capital was founded by former Two Sigma executives. Metalayer
\n Capital declined to comment.<\/p>\n

The strategy pairs
\n GLDY with an offsetting short position in gold-linked perpetual futures, so it
\n is designed to be largely indifferent to whether gold prices rise or fall, the
\n person said. It aims instead to earn the yield GLDY pays, which
\n Streamex targets at 3.5% a year in additional gold generated through a
\n gold-leasing program.<\/p>\n

For Streamex, the
\n significance lies in the mechanics: money deployed into the long position goes
\n into GLDY, adding to the assets under management on which the company earns
\n fees.<\/p>\n

The initial allocation
\n of $1 million is final, with follow-on investments anticipated, and its
\n significance lies in who is buying: it suggests that tokenized securities such
\n as GLDY are drawing interest not only from accredited individual investors but
\n also from the institutional investor community.<\/p>\n

In August,
\n Streamex laid out a list of goals for the following 90 days. \u201cConverting
\n the first institutional allocations into GLDY was at the top of that list,\u201d
\n said Henry McPhie, the company\u2019s co-founder and chief executive. He called the
\n arrangement \u201ca fundamentally different growth channel than selling to one
\n investor at a time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond the initial $1
\n million, the rest of the commitment remain at the purview of the investor, and
\n there is no assurance that any additional amount of GLDY will be bought.<\/p>\n

The companies have
\n other ties. Metalayer also acts as a liquidity provider for GLDY on certain
\n trading venues and can mint and redeem the token directly with the issuer, the
\n person said. Streamex doesn\u2019t manage or sponsor the fund and isn\u2019t compensated
\n based on money the fund raises.<\/p>\n

GLDY is offered only
\n to eligible investors under exemptions from securities registration, and its
\n holders to date have largely been accredited investors seeking yield. Streamex
\n has made
\n six consecutive monthly distributions on the token, most recently in September,
\n and publishes its gold reserves through a
\n Chainlink proof-of-reserves feed.<\/p>\n
