The turnaround followed tests of key technical support in each index:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>S&amp;P 500: Fell 43.45 points at its session low; now up 7.59 points, or 0.10%.<\/li>\n<li>Nasdaq Composite: Fell 229.90 points at its session low; now up 19.65 points, or 0.07%.<\/li>\n<li>Nasdaq 100: Fell 266.13 points at its session low; now up about 50 points, or 0.17%.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"isSelectedEnd\">As discussed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/investinglive.com\/stocks\/broader-us-stock-indices-are-pushing-to-the-downside-with-each-testing-support-targets\/\" rel=\"follow\">earlier video and post<\/a>, each index was approaching a support target. Buyers had their shot at those levels, and so far they have taken it.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>S&amp;P 500: The decline found support near the 100-hour moving average at 7667. The index then moved back above its 200-hour moving average at 7681.68. Those two moving averages remain the near-term barometer: staying above them gives buyers more control; a move back below would put the downside back in focus.<\/li>\n<li>Nasdaq Composite: The low at 26706 held above the bottom of the swing area near 26676. The index has since moved back above the top of that area near 26856 and is trading around 26938. Buyers will want to keep the price above 26856 to show that the break has staying power.<\/li>\n<li>Nasdaq 100: The index reached 30204.16, just above the swing level at 30195, before bouncing. That level remains the line in the sand for the rebound.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The first test of support did its job. The next test is whether buyers can maintain the gains and build momentum from here.
