Both the JOLTS and consumer confidence data was poor, with the latter falling to the lowest since 2014 in a sharp decline.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Iran headlines were more muted but there were better signs that negotiations are continuing with mediators still involved. Bigger news in the oil market was the US tapping the SPR for another 40 million barrels, sending oil to the lows of the day.<\/p>\n<p>Before that oil move, Treasury yields were rising again with 30s hitting a generational high in a particularly problematic move. Later, the front end was weighed down by comments from Williams who said he thinks the Fed only needs to hike once more this year, followed almost immediatley by him saying he&#8217;s data dependent. In any case, the odds for the October meeting have fallen to 50\/50 from 64% of a hike.
