That leaves borrowing costs at uncomfortable levels for equities after Treasuries suffered their worst quarter since 1994.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"text-align-justify\">As such,\u00a0that is making it difficult for European stocks to take much comfort amid the latest broader market developments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"text-align-justify\">Oil prices were also trading lower earlier today with WTI crude dropping briefly below $89, before rebounding back to $90.87 currently. That continues to reaffirm that\u00a0the inflation risk from elevated energy prices hasn&#8217;t exactly disappeared.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"text-align-justify\">So once again, it is that combination of higher oil prices and surging bond yields that is pressuring equities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"text-align-justify\">The only bright spot is that there is\u00a0a fairly notable divergence with the tech trade.\u00a0Strong Micron earnings helped lift AI-related stocks across Japan and South Korea overnight, while US futures are holding firmer so far today. S&amp;P 500 futures are up by 0.5% and Nasdaq futures up by 1.1% as we get into European morning trade.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\" class=\"text-align-justify\">Even so, I would characterise the\u00a0risk tone as one that is more cautious here.
