However, Nvidia is the only one of the seven trading at a new all-time high today. The others are at different stages of their technical journeys, with some holding support and others still working to get above resistance.

In the video below, I take a technical look at five of those stocks—Microsoft, Meta Platforms, Alphabet, Nvidia and Apple—and outline the levels that define the bias, the risk and the next targets.

Microsoft (MSFT): Microsoft shares are trading near $516, within a key swing area between $513.50 and $517.60. Today’s move took the price above that area to $522.50, but buyers could not sustain the break, and the price rotated back into the zone. Buyers had their shot. Now they need to hold $513.50 and push back above $517.60 to give the upside another chance. A move above today’s high would strengthen that case. Even then, there is still ground to make up before reaching the October 2025 high at $553.72 and the all-time high at $556.26, reached in late July 2025. For now, the immediate battle is around the swing area. Stay above its lower boundary, and buyers retain an opportunity. Move below it, and the failed break becomes more of a concern.

Meta Platforms (META): Meta has made a strong run from its late-July low near $523, with the release of Muse helping fuel September’s surge toward $780. Since the September 25 peak, the stock corrected to near $713, where buyers stepped in around the rising 100-hour moving average, currently at $715.32. Holding that moving average was a positive technical development, and today’s rebound has reached $741.58. However, buyers still need to get to—and through—the swing area between $745 and $760. That zone is the next hurdle before looking toward this year’s high near $780 and the 2025 highs between $790 and $796, including the all-time high at $796.25. The buyers have defended support. Now they need to prove they can break resistance.

Alphabet (GOOGL): Alphabet shares are higher today, but there is still work to do to strengthen the bullish bias. Yesterday, the price fell below the 200-day moving average at $338.92, reaching a low of $335.61. Today’s recovery has taken the stock back above that longer-term barometer, which is a step in the right direction. However, the rally to $345.77 stalled near the 100-hour moving average at $345.50. Buyers need to get and stay above that level to open the door for a move toward the falling 100-day moving average at $355.22. Recall that the September 22 break above the 100-day moving average failed quickly. The buyers had their chance, but could not build on it. Holding above the 200-day moving average and reclaiming the shorter-term resistance levels would help repair that damage. The all-time high at $408.61, reached on May 15, remains well above the current price.

Nvidia (NVDA): Nvidia is leading the group, reaching a new all-time high today at $237.88 and taking out the May high at $236.54. The move has also carried the price above and away from the swing area between $230.32 and $233.21. That former resistance zone now becomes an important support reference on a pullback. Holding above it would keep buyers firmly in control, while the $230 level is a key line in the sand. After a break to record highs, traders want to see the price build on that momentum. A move back below $230 would be disappointing and raise questions about the strength of the breakout.

Apple (AAPL): Apple reached its all-time high at $345.34 on September 21, but shares have since corrected lower. Yesterday, the price briefly dipped below the 200-hour moving average, currently at $327.32, before recovering and closing back above it. Sellers had an opportunity to push lower, but could not sustain the break. Today’s rebound has extended to $334.54, putting the stock within reach of the 100-hour moving average at $335.48. Get above that level and stay above, and buyers would take another step toward regaining control, with the record high at $345.34 coming back into focus. Until then, the two hourly moving averages help frame the immediate battle: the 200-hour moving average is support, and the 100-hour moving average is resistance.

A short technical lesson

An index trading at a record high does not mean every stock within it is doing the same. Each stock has its own trend, support and resistance levels. That is why traders need to look beyond the index headline and define the risk for the individual stock.

A break above resistance is a start. Staying above it is what gives the break credibility. Likewise, holding support gives buyers an opportunity, but they still need to clear the next upside hurdle. Those levels provide a practical way to measure whether buyers or sellers are taking control.

Nvidia has made the break to new highs. For the other four, the technical levels outlined above will help tell us whether they can follow—or whether sellers will step back in. In the video, I walk through those levels and what traders need to see next.

This article was written by Greg Michalowski at investinglive.com.

With both the Nasdaq Composite and Nasdaq 100 trading at record highs, you might expect the familiar names in the Magnificent Seven to be doing the same.
