Crude oil came under some
\n pressure yesterday after Iran’s state media
\n reported that Iran’s security chief met with the Supreme Leader Khamenei. <\/p>\n

Sources said that Khamenei stressed in the meeting the
\n importance of pursuing Iran’s interests and implementing its conditions with
\n the aim of ending the war and the stalemate situation.<\/p>\n

It was just a quick headline with little substance,
\n but market\u2019s expectations for a potential US-Iran deal strengthened, nonetheless.\n <\/p>\n

This morning, Reuters reported that Qatari mediators
\n presented Iran with new draft deal in Tehran on Sunday and that Iran is considering
\n the proposal, with response expected by the end of the week. The report added
\n that the draft sets a seven-day timeline addressing both sides’ concerns, each
\n side must make daily confidence-building steps.<\/p>\n

The news weighed on oil prices for a little bit until
\n we got a senior Iranian official saying that Qatar has not offered a fresh plan
\n to stop hostilities with the US and Qatar\u2019s ideas are unacceptable to Tehran.
\n He added that Iran\u2019s firm stance on nuclear issues remains unchanged. <\/p>\n

All in all, crude
\n oil remains supported amid
\n the Middle East tensions and the possibility of another US attack after the US
\n midterm elections. We would need a de-escalation in the Saudi-Houthi conflict
\n or a surprising breakthrough in US-Iran negotiations to get a significant
\n correction in oil prices.<\/p>\n

\n TECHNICAL ANALYSIS \u2013 DAILY TIMEFRAME<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

On the daily chart, we can
\n see that crude oil<\/a>(CFD contract) is still consolidating
\n around recent highs as US-Iran deal optimism strengthened. There\u2019s not much we
\n can glean from this timeframe as the most important levels remain the lower
\n bound of the channel and the resistance around the 110.00 level, so we need to
\n zoom in to see some more details.<\/p>\n

CRUDE OIL TECHNICAL
\n ANALYSIS \u2013 4 HOUR TIMEFRAME<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

On the 4 hour chart, we have
\n a minor upward trendline defining the bullish momentum. The buyers will likely
\n continue to lean on the trendline, with a defined risk below it, to keep
\n pushing into new highs. The sellers, on the other hand, will look for a break
\n lower to extend the drop into the lower bound of the channel.<\/p>\n

CRUDE OIL TECHNICAL
\n ANALYSIS \u2013 1 HOUR TIMEFRAME<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

On the 1 hour chart, we
\n have a minor downward trendline defining the current pullback. The sellers will
\n likely continue to lean on the trendline, with a defined risk above it, to keep
\n targeting a break below the upward trendline. The buyers, on the other hand,
\n will want to see the price breaking higher to increase the bullish bets into
\n the 110.00 resistance. The red lines define the average daily range<\/a> for today. <\/p>\n

UPCOMING CATALYSTS<\/p>\n

Today<\/a>we have the FOMC rate decision. Tomorrow, we get the
\n US GDP report, the US PCE and the latest US Jobless Claims figures. On Friday,
\n we conclude the week with the US Employment Cost Index. The focus will remain
\n on the Middle East developments.<\/p>\n
