Amid the US midterm election results, we are seeing the dollar soften across the board and that has allowed EUR/USD to come up for some air above the 1.1200 mark.

So, that opens up a bit of room for buyers to work with but there is still some key resistance from the 23.6 Fib retracement level of the swing lower from August to October at 1.1254. As such, the expiries above will add another layer to the resistance point in making it tougher for buyers to try and break away to the upside.

If anything, the expiries will play a small part in anchoring price action closer to 1.1250 on any upside extensions. That being said, dollar sentiment will remain the number one driver as traders continue to digest what to make of Democrats set to take over both the Senate and the House after the midterms. All eyes will be on broader risk sentiment and also what happens to the US-Iran war too after this.

Besides that, there are two key expiries for EUR/GBP at the 0.8330 and 0.8375 levels too. The former is the closer one, seen just 10 pips away from the spot price, and will arguably be the more relevant one. If anything, the expiries will help to act as a bit of a magnet or provide some attraction in keeping any downside extensions in EUR/GBP from running too far in the session ahead.

With all eyes on the dollar right now, the impact of the expiries in EUR/GBP may be relevant amid a lack of other key drivers to influence price action today.

For more information on how to use this data, you may refer to this post here and/or refer to the Q&A below.

This article was written by Justin Low at investinglive.com.

There are a few key expiry levels to take note of on the day, as highlighted in bold below.
