Trump: I would love to avoid a conflict with Iran

On Iran, Trump says:

  • Iran’s going to have to negotiate tougher
  • I would love to avoid a conflict with Iran.

Crude oil spiked to the downside on the comment to $67.71 but has sent back to $68.00 currently. The price is also back below its 200 day moving average near $68.45. Earlier today, the price moved above that moving average for the first time since February 3.

UPDATE:

  • Trump says an Israeli strike is not imminent but looks like it could happen.

In addition, White House envoy Whitkoff also warned Republican senators saying that:

  • Iran could respond to an Israeli attack on its nuclear facilities with a massive missile attack that would overcome Israeli defenses and cause massive damage and casualties.

Crude oil is back above $68 trading at $68.21 which is unchanged on the day.
