Strategy: Bored Fibonacci (lazy fib)

Strategy: Bored Fibonacci (lazy fib)

239943   July 2, 2022 14:05   SwingFish   Strategies

to discuss this strategy, just head to the post on Forex-factory

everyone knows “DONT Trade if you bored”
well, I did it anyway and blow away ALOT of $$ in the process.

if you are like me and can’t control yourself .. better stop trading
or do this below:
it’s basically a way to let you “chase trades”

based on Beauty rather than difficult analytics … (yes I meant Beauty because the strategy works best and only on a clear structure)
perfect for quiet markets (personally I make the best results in the Asian session as there are less news and levels are better respected)

look at this screen below and tell me if you would have taken this trade-off the 1H chart:

I would not

so the first part of this strategy is to zoom in/out so far until the chart does look “nice”
where “nice” means where you can clearly see the steps a typical trend does “HH-HL-HH” or “LH-LL-LH”

like this (same time as above, just on M3)

Indicators needed: None
Tools Needed: Fibonacci extension tool with the values: 0, -5, 38, 83

find the trend-sequence appearing “CLEARLY“(this is VERY VERY important!!! .. if there is consolidation in the way .. drop it .. wait for next setup.)

Long Setup:

  1. draw the first part of the extension from LH to HH while the retracement-candles are still building
  2. after this you can place a buy stop with SL and TP preset already as the range will not change anymore. this enables you to make proper Money Management.
  3. then “correct” the Extention line to the current building HL ONLY Downwards and keep moving the Buy Stop to align with 38% of the Extention.
  4. once direction change upwards .. wait

3 things can happen:

  1. price goes below stop loss -> move the extension to the new Low and -> move pending order to be filled at the new 38% level
  2. price goes lower than previous low -> Cancel order (the trend is no longer valid)
  3. order get filed -> wait for TP

I tested this with 152 trades with a 56% Win Ratio.
let me know what you guys think of that.

UB-Noise Crashtest Terminated

UB-Noise Crashtest Terminated

3097   December 3, 2017 01:08   SwingFish   Strategies

after the third “crash” we decided to terminate this test for the time beeing and re-start it later with a different set.

the main mission was accomplished, as the machine did create an initial gain of 321%.

however, the chance of a total loss is simply too great.

the EA would be able to maintain just like UB-Noise does, but it would need 4 times the funds to do so, and this would make it far less profitable in percentage terms.

please stay tuned, we will start a new Category once the tests have been completed in a few weeks.

meanwhile, we will use the VPS Slot to trade another instance of UB-Noise on CADCHF with an extremely low turnaround, as the funds on that account are not intended to be traded at all.

a ‘close one’ 58% Drawdown then 715$ gain

947   September 25, 2017 15:21   SwingFish   Strategies

Starting September 21. GBPAUD startet to massively Rise .. with no pullback at all.Friday there

this caused a 58% Drawdown.

We Turned off AutoTrade, Placed a Short Order at the Peak of 3 Lots and waited it out.

at price then finally falled we experiences a 715$ Equity Raise, closed all trades and continue AutoTrade.

Total Gain as of then: +41.94%

that was a “close one”

the Drawdown caused however a Margin call on the Demo account that is used to Mirror the trades to the cTrader Network
i have not checked this account for a very long time … so i also placed a additionsl short order there to pay for the margin calls, which turned out just fine. here is a extra post about the Mirror-account.
