China foreign ministry reaffirms that US should respect international trade rules

This is as what you’d expect from China ahead of the talks tomorrow. The question now is, are we going to see the US drop its tariff levels before both sides sit down at the table over the weekend? It’s certainly a consideration, particularly after this report here.

That will help to at least try and build a starting point for trade discussions. But knowing China, they won’t accept anything less than going back to where things were before. So, we’ll see.
