US Secretary of State Rubio: We’re going to continue to engage with Russia

• If there’s an opportunity for us to make a difference and get Russia to table, we’re going to take it.
• President Trump will buck Europe’s pleas to ratchet up sactions on Russia, US still wants room to negotiate a peace deal.

Trump said he was going to end the war in Ukraine in a day but nothing has changed yet. After the Israel-Iran conflict, the focus might get back to Russia-Ukraine war but it looks like Trump doesn’t want to pressure Russia too much. A month or so ago, Rubio said that they were going to abandon the peace negotiations if a deal wasn’t reached in a week or so, but here we are. There’s still no end in sight.
