That’s a modest bounce after the plunge in the previous month, owing to fears surrounding Trump’s tariffs. That said, investor sentiment remains at a low level but at least the outsized fears have diminished. The expectations index also jumped up to 19.6, up from 3.8 in April previously. Sentix notes that:
“This is remarkable, as it shows that investors have largely abandoned the recession fears they expressed last month. The main victims of Trump’s tariffs policy are the US economy, and ,to some extent, the economies of China and Switzerland.”
