What are the technicals driving the S&P and Nasdaq indices today?

The S&P 500 is trading little changed on the day, while the Nasdaq is outperforming with a gain of about 0.30%. Earlier this week, the S&P climbed to a new record high of 7,793.68, although it fell just short of reaching its topside trendline target. The Nasdaq, meanwhile, remains below its all-time high of 27,190.21. Its high so far this week has reached 26,788.62, leaving additional upside levels still in play.

In the video above, I break down both major indices, identify the key support and resistance levels, and drill down to the shorter-term technical markers that can help define the bias, the risk, and the roadmap for traders in the sessions ahead.
